Lisa Gal (b. 1997, Seoul) is an interdisciplinary artist and independent curator based in Toronto. She uses provisional and automatic methods on paintings, sculptures, and texts to explore themes of interiority and authority. Plain and natural forms are playfully interpreted with symbolic gesture, repositioning grandeur within everyday life. Gal has curated and exhibited in both commercial galleries and artist-run spaces, contributed works to creative international publications, and performed in feature-length films. In 2026, Gal curated From the Nuclear Living Room at Gagné Contemporary Projects, and received her BFA in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University, where she presented her thesis exhibition, Arrows. She is currently developing Cymbals, a 15-track electronic ambient album; a collaborative text project with Berlin-based art magazine Common Pink and Munich publisher Fiftycents Books; and an appearance in Colourless Cola, directed by Isiah Medina.
